All Nonsense

It's all nonsense

the thoughts within my head

Thoughts of silly things

like roses painted red

Dancing chess pieces

lunch boxes full of cubes

"Must be the tea" they chime

as I sit with the nonsense in my head

I Am

I am human

words can cut deep

as can actions

I have scars no one can see

stories I will never tell

whispers spoke in moonlight

I have seen things no one else has

felt my soul torn in two

where scars leave canyons

I am human

Someday

Someday I will return to moonbeams & raindrops

I'll leave this nonsense behind

Morn not for me

I have lived the life of love I always imagined

I have known what it means to live

a life not bound by the nonsense of

the boxes people try to put us in

I am the love I always wanted to see

I sleep deeply in the slumber that revives me

Someday I will return to moonbeams & raindrops

but not today
