Loneliest of Places

Sometimes in the loneliest of places

we find the best of friends

when we are at our lowest

they come to bring their light

to help us find our own

Sometimes in the loneliest of places

we realize we are not alone

that we are loved more

than we ever thought

that we are valued

more than we realized

Sometimes in the loneliest of places

we come to understand

that we too, are the light

Fallen

Be careful what you pray for

you don't always get what

you want

sometimes you get more

than you bargain for

sometimes you get more

than you want

sometimes you call forth

the fallen

Be careful what you pray for

unless you really don't care

unless this is what you want

because sometimes a little wickedness

can be just the trick

to remind us the fallen

were once angels too

There is beauty to be found

Turn Up the Music

Turn up the music

it drowns out the drama

Freedom

Freedom comes not from what others tell us

It comes from what we hold inside

We hold inside each of use the ability

to fly to the highest sights

or skim the depths

Depending on where we find ourselves

Even in our darkest nights

we still hold our own light

even if it is just an ember

a tiny shard of a gem

it still sparkles

Know that if you forget your light

I will always let you borrow mine

but I think you're always a gem

The Apology

Right now so many of us out there are bleeding, not on the outside but inside. Our hearts are ripped open with wounds that have never healed as we wait for apologies that will never come. We've been putting bandages that are too small, with tape that hardly sticks over the top of said wounds while we wait for closure that others will never give us.

This happens for a wide variety of reasons many of which boil down to we are waiting for apologies we will never, ever receive. I want to stop waiting for that apology. I am giving you, right here, right now an apology for every hurtful thing that has been done to you, whatever it was.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I'm sorry you had to live through that. I'm sorry you weren't accepted. I'm sorry they hurt you. You did nothing to deserve any of that. You ARE worthy just as you are. You are a beautiful soul, a blessing, & I am glad you're here.

Water Nymph dances in the night

to the sounds of the water

when the dogs add the chorus

she turns on the lights

She dances to celebrate

this thing called life

there is nothing better

being who we are

living how we wish

loving who we are

this is why she dances

Dreams

Who is to say what dreams may come

from nightmare's thoughts

or battles hard won

When thoughts are set free

allowed to wander

coming undone

while the mind ponders

Sometimes the mind is a cage

in dreams where we are

who we always long to be

Sleep a little longer

in slumber's quiet embrace

as your thoughts take flight
