Fast Car

"So I remember when we were driving, driving in your car. Speeds so fast I felt like I was drunk..' - Tracy Chapman, Fast Car

I remember those nights, in your car, driving down the back roads with nowhere in particular to go. How I thought those nights would last forever. I thought we would last forever. We were young, so in love, it seemed as if the world stopped time just for us.

We'd pull over on lonely lanes, hands all over each other like we could never get enough. I remember those days with fondness, love, and terrific memories. All these years later I hope you got where you wanted to go and you are happy there.

For now, I'm going to take this fast car & keep on driving...

Snow Pupper

There is only one thing you can do when faced with the snow while you have a dog, learn to love it! Today, Kiac & I are taking a walk in the snow to enjoy all that winter has to offer.

I stopped along the way to catch a few on my tongue, my eyes closed as I think of winter wonderlands of my childhood.

Kiac never complains about the cold, he just wanders along beside me, my ever present companion. I am so lucky to have a pupper who cares so very much about being with me.

I hope you have someone that cares about you that way too. May your winter adventures be filled with fun (and maybe, some snow too.)

Working It Out

Today I'm working out my frustrations in the healthiest way I know. Just some dumbbells with a little ocean view on my own private dock.

Working out the frustrations that have crept into my life. Making them go away with healthy vibes.

Stretching it all out as it fades the stress away.

Almost all done now so looking forward to a little taste of this donut!

Whatever you do today, try to melt your stress away.

Tear for the Fallen

Tears spill from behind my lids

for the fallen from this plain

Leaving us alone a while

until we change to meet again

Each tear a single memory

of things that used to be

A look forward to what

I will become

Now that their lives

this time are done

I shed these tears for the fallen

from all our lives

They're not forgotten

Sounds

I listen to the sounds

they soothe my soul

Words set to music

they make me feel whole

Just to know there are others

who feel the same as I

Definitely enough to

make me cry

Music is the bridge

that spans humankind

Listening, we can realize

none are left behind

Take a listen today

even if you lose time

Come to realize

we all shine

How I Look Is Beautiful

I might not look the way you'd expect

Or be the person you wanted me to be

I look how I want

beautiful in my own light

I am deeper than the oceans

More vast in my love than the universe

How I look is how I want to be

Beautiful, deep, thoughtful beyond measure

I am me, nothing more, nothing less

I am beautiful

(So are you)
