Escape

She longed to escape
the face they always saw
the one they wanted her
to put forth day after day

She longed to be only
herself
the person she was inside
their hands tearing
pulling at her
like society tends to do

She TORE OFF her mask
in order to be free
from their constraints
free to be her quirky self
leaving their cares behind
finally learning to escape

Blind

You think she's blind
to all there is
but voices whisper
in her ears
telling her secrets
none dare know

You think she's blind
to melancholy
but she knows
sadness deeper
than the oceans

You think she's blind
to love
but she knows
love is more vast
than space

You think she's blind
but she knows more
than you'll
ever comprehend

Voodoo You Do

Oh that voodoo you do
puts me back together
when I'm falling apart
when my lonely pieces
cry out in the darkness

never fear though I keep
my own doll filled
full of pins
a visual representation
of internal pains
that you smooth over
with words that
flow like healing waters

Oh that voodoo you do
puts me back together
when I'm falling apart
when I forget who I am
your love pours into me
healing the pins I
poke into myself
because love heals
what we rip apart

Clean Up

What's a dirty girl to do
when she wants to get clean
step into the nearest

body of water to wash off
blood from the latest conquest
can't leave any evidence
of whom the victor is

don't worry everything
cleans up easily if
you scrub it enough

make sure the blades
gleam when you're done
to be ready for tomorrow's fun

Witch Cottage

There's a witch cottage
at the end of a long lane
where trees turn color
leaves fall softly

on olden graves
for those who are buried
there are ancestors of old
their knowledge passed down
as was always foretold

There's a witch cottage
at the end of a long lane
where fireplaces tell secrets

if you gaze into crystal balls
by their sides long enough
but only if you really want to know

There's a witch cottage
at the end of a long lane
where people go to find themselves
to become new again
in ways some will never understand
because the Universe
works in mysterious ways

Walk in the Woods

When walking your dogs in the woods with your best friend always be sure to bring a change of shirts because you never know what could happen. I mean your dogs could take you for a wild walk or you could fall, getting something on your shirt.

Anything at all could happen when you're feral and spooky plus your best friend is always wanting hugs! I mean aren't dolls cute to hug anyway?

Forget the fact that some are so slender it feels like hugging bones just give them a little hug anyway. I do hope you enjoy a little walk with your best friend today. Happy walking in the woods nearest you.

Fall into Friendship

The leaves are turning into their most beautiful colors so it is time to sit
on the porch with the neighbors drinking tea while telling secrets.

As the years tumble along we come to find that the house becomes a home
as lives become memories, each moment a memento of what has come to past.

Two houses, once full of strangers, now full of best friends.

There are so many times that tears were shed for sadness
but just as many times for joy in these houses side by side

as we open the door to one because the door is always open for friends.

Cursed

You might think her cursed
this daughter of the night
with the moon as her guide
the knows the light
doesn't fear the darkness

where so many cower
she bravely stands on
her own two feet
where others fear to tread
crows her best friends

who tell her stories of old
wisdom few behold

You might think her cursed
this daughter of the night
yet she's blessed
by the darkness
plus light from the moon

No Angel

She's no angel
did you think she'd be
did you think she'd just kneel
at your feet a precious kitten

She's no angel
she fought hard to get
where she is
blood under her fingernails
splashed on her face

She's no angel
her wars have been many
battles fought among the crowd
until she learned to survive

She's no angel
still she's the answer
to prayers a plenty

Parts & Pieces

She is made from parts & pieces
of everything she has ever known
everyone she has ever encountered
every word that has ever been said

Forged together from memories
that haunt her waking hours
even when she looks in the mirror

She is all of those memories
yet, also more
a combination of all
plus everything she is

For that is all of us
a combination of memories
experiences forge us all
into who we are

She is parts & pieces
made whole

You Think She's Your Puppet

You think she's your puppet that you pull the strings when in reality only she controls  where the music leads  You think she's yo...

  • Balance
In all things there must be balance for when the tables turn too much when one becomes oppressed one must fall even from the heavens rippin...
  • Hating Yourselves
I know a lot of you are hating yourselves right now I want you to know that I don't I think you're precious a gift to the Universe ...
