Sometimes what you see is nothing
but merely a facade
the true person hides
deep inside
This happens for many reasons
from pain one has experienced
to lack of trust
to heartbreak
The facade can be to hide
pain that is so deep
even the largest chasms
couldn't reach the bottom
When you see someone
look carefully
take time to be gentle
for we each have
our own facades
we hide behind
when all we seek
